Our Background
Portal Psychological Services founded by Dr. Luis Portal-Queirolo, a bilingual psychologist certified by the California State Board of Labor and by the California Board of Psychology, has a diverse clinical background working with Hispanics and African Americans. He also poses a License from the Peruvian Board of Psychology.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Portal-Queirolo has significant experience working in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas in California with diverse populations (children and adults) on issues of depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, parenting, ADHD, communication problems, relationships, chronic illness, pain, transitional matters in life, and domestic violence. Also, Dr. Portal-Queirolo has an extensive experience working in the forensic arena with acute and chronically mentally ill patients. He has been a political advisor for a democratic party in other countries, and has published several articles in a Hispanic newspaper in Orange County supporting the Hispanic community
TRAINING
Trained in psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral, therapy, short-term therapy, biofeedback (USA-ITALY), trained in evidence base treatment, borderline personality disorder, hypnosis, cultural diversity, domestic violence, substance abuse. Thus, he has been trained to work with acute psychiatric patients in private and public institutions. Additionally, he has experience working with sex offenders as well as with patients with PTSD. Finally, he has training in spirituality at the Saddleback Church and in Catholic Theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú.

Licensed Psychologist by the California Board of Psychology. Licensed Psychologist by the Peruvian Board of Psychology. Doctorate in Psychology Psy.D. at the Alliant International University (USIU); Master of Arts in Psychology at the Alliant International University, Bachelor of Science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú; Certified in Biofeedback Stens Corporation; Certified in domestic violence by Anderson & Anderson; Certified in drug abuse by the Alliant International University (USIU), Certified training as Spiritual counselor at the Saddleback Church in California and in basic Catholic Theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú, Jesuit Alumni. Certified by the Labor Department of California as a bilingual (Spanish) professional. Certified in CBT by PESI and Certified in REBT with Dr. Debbie Ellis.
